Hello all you lovely people who've visitted me here,

Gooi, very very very pleasant surprise to see your comment up here. Really made my day.

As per previous post, I've been given some space by my friend and so, check for updates of my boring and very uninteresting life on:-

WOO HOO!!! geekchic is alive and well! Thanks to good old friend Jonathan who's been absolutely generous in giving me space to be myself for blogging. He's actually set this up for his webhosting biz and I really feel bad about it :(

Not to mention he spent half the night configuring scripts and style-sheets for me so that it'll look presentable on my bloody useless IE5.0. Why am I still on this? Well, for one thing, I can't afford a new machine to run on Windows XP (thus the latest IE). My piece-of-metal-disguised-as-a-PC is only good for Win98SE and below (not resorting to Win95), so I'm stuck as it is.

So, in the meantime, if anyone wants web-hosting, feel free to contact Jon at jonathan@notdesign.net.

Happy birthday, Jon! Hope today's (although there's not much left of today!) gonna be a special one for you. If not today, then tomorrow's dinner and the major PIG-out on Sunday.

Have a good one and hope you like the pressie!

2 wild goose chases in less than 24 hours! This has got to be the most interesting CNY ever for me! Oh, Gong Xi Fa Chai, everyone. An older and wiser friend once told me:

"feng shui master's advice for the coming year of the monkey: take good care of your banana"

No names are mentioned because the so-said older and wiser friend is sensitive about being older than moi.

Well, having been disappointed with bookcrossing the previous night, we embarked upon a new adventure. This time, with geocaching! And now, I really do wish I had paid more attention in Geography classes back in school. Too bad, too late. Was totally stumped when I saw the coordinates. I didn't even know where to begin! I was given a few sites to translate the coordinates into something that makes sense to my brains (sounds like using a compiler to compile my source codes into binary to be read and understood by machines...there we go...the geek side of me surfacing!) but all I could do was look helplessly at the figures! Thank God for my engineer darling who punched in some random(I'm sure they're not random but they do look SO random to me!) numbers on his calculator and VOILA!

It's on the OTHER side of Fed Sq and it's called the Federation Bells. Half an hour of searching amounts to nothing. We looked in almost every nook and cranny for the cache and found NOTHING. Every sighting of a loose plastic bag got our hopes high but further poking into the bag almost always disappoints us.

However, it was a gorgeous day out and it did all of us good to get some sunshine. For more of treasure-hunting activities, refer to Jon's page. BTW, credit has to be given to Jon for allowing me to leech his ADSL connection all the time! =)

Got sucked into bookcrossing. Kindly note that this happenned 2 days ago, or rather 2 nights ago. That was how I spent my CNY Eve. Was chatting with some friends and thought of bookcrossing all of a sudden. Signed up, customized my alerts on an impulse and I received an alert for a book that was just released at about 1030pm! So, my good ol' pal Jonathan decided to go mad with me and we drove off onto St Kilda Road hunting first of all for VCA. Thank god that VCA is part of Melbourne Uni and I've a copy of the VCA map in my student diary. Let me state for the record that any uni grounds is creepy at night. You could literally hear my heart leap up to my throat as a large 3-legged boxer came running towards us. He was playful and as I caught my breath again, I said my customary hello's and scurried off. He wanted to play catch and at 11pm at night, I think NOT.

I think it was the anticipation of being able to actually catch hold of the book more than actually reading the book itself that made all this so fun. We found the School of Dance, walked around it twice looking on, under, around each bench outside the School but to no avail. Honestly, was quite bummed about it but was cheered up instantly by 5 meatballs courtesy of Mr. Jonathan Poh!

Dreamt of chasing after books all over Melbourne.

*takes a deep breath* here goes nothing...

I can't believe I got sucked into this! I'm a private person. I loathe the fact that people can even have a sneak into my deepest thoughts and emotions and against everything I stand for, here I am, blogging!

Who am I?
I'm a child of God. Redeemed by the holy blood of Jesus Christ. A princess in His kingdom.

I'm a geek according to some friends, a bimbo according to others, thus GeekChic was born. Unfortunately the username was taken up! I'm just as happy programming, tinkering away on a PC, talking geek talk just as I am going on a shopping-spree.

I'm a Melbourne water-saver! =)
